The Dolder's sporting facilities, which were built back at the beginning of the last century, testify to an extraordinary spirit of pioneering and innovation. The ice rink, which opened in 1930, was – and still is – the largest of its kind in Europe. In 1954, it hosted the ice hockey World Championships.
